Justin M. Gugel, 30, a former Genesee County Correctional Officer at the Jail on 14 West Main street, was arrested and charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th after an investigation.
While employed at the Genesee County jail, Gugel allegedly stole a controlled substance from medication which had been prescribed and allotted for an inmate on January 19, 2019.
An investigation was opened after pills were reported missing following a routine medication count in the jail.
Gugel was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court on May 7, 2019 at 1:00p.m.
