An East Bethany man is in custody after an altercation in the Town of Clarendon on April 21, 2019.
Kevin J. Compton, 57, is charged with 2 counts of assault 2nd after allegedly stabbing a father and son.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Mansfield road about 8:00p.m. after dispatchers received a call for a stabbing.
Compton was at a residence working on the interior of the home when a verbal altercation occurred. The father, the son and Compton then exited the house, going across the street into a cornfield where the argument continued.
At some point, the verbal argument turned physical and the father and son were stabbed in the chest.
Both father and son were transported to Strong Hospital by COVA and Monroe Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
Compton was arraigned in the Town of Clarendon Court and jailed on $20,000 bail. He will return to court on May 13, 2019 at 6:00p.m.
The incident is being investigated by the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the NYS Police.
