Police say the Urgent Care Center at the Jerome Center at 16 Bank street received an anonymous threat by telephone of a bomb in the building and to get out.
The threat was called in about 3:30p.m.
The City of Batavia Police immediately evacuated the Jerome Center and a perimeter was set up. Reverse 911 calls were made to residents in the neighborhood to advise them of the incident and the Jerome Senior Apartments located on the other side of the building were instructed to “Shelter in Place”.
State Police K-9 units were called to the scene to assist with a search of the building.
As of 5:50p.m. the building was searched and cleared.
Police are now investigating as to who made the bomb threat call.
