The 15th annual Mammoth Sale is taking place at St. Joseph’s School on Saturday from 9am-4pm. The school is located at 2 Summit street.
The event has expanded again this year with two showrooms inside, the second floor is baby items only and three tents were added to the parking lot.
“This year is outstanding,” says Kathy Stefani, organizer.
“Donors give us bigger and bigger items each year so we can make a little more profit each year.”
This year there are a lot of antiques and collectables along with a lot of antique furniture.
“Every year it takes on its own character, we have a lot of specialty items, but the character of this year is just huge.”
A volunteer group of about 75 people work 50 out of 52 weeks per year to gather all the items. It takes 2 full weeks to set up the sale with 100 volunteers manning the event.
No baby strollers are allowed at the sale.
The sale expects to attract about 2,000 people.
“You either make it or miss it.”
All proceeds go to St. Joseph’s Regional School and will assist with renovations, technology and field trips.
