Deputy McGinnis and Deputy George responded to Bank Road in the Town of Middlebury for a one car motor vehicle accident with injuries on July 11, 2019.
Once on location, Deputies found the vehicle heavily damaged in the ditch. After talking with the driver, Michael J. Difalco, 31, of Batavia, who was traveling north on Bank Road when he lost control, he says he swerved after trying to avoid a deer .
Difalco was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital for minor injuries and was later released.
Two passengers in the vehicle were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, one was treated for serious injuries, and the other was treated for minor injuries and released.
Difalco was arrested for DWI, aggravated DWI while driving with a child passenger less than 16, and moving from a lane unsafely.
Difalco was arraigned in the Town of Middlebury Town Court and remanded to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of no bail.
Difalco was later given an appearance ticket for vehicular assault 2nd . He is to appear in the Town of Middlebury Court on July 22, 2019.
Deputy George responded to Welch Road, Town of Java, for a vehicle in the ditch on July 18, 2019 at 2:09a.m. The driver, Bethane S. Kobylanski, 39, of Wethersfield, was traveling east on Welch Road when she lost control after failing negotiating a curve.
Kobylanski was arrested for DWI, aggravated unlicensed operator 1st, unlicensed operator and moving from a lane unsafely.
Kobylanski was arraigned in Java Town Court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $500 bail. Kobylanski is to appear in the Town of Java Court on August 21, 2019 at 5:00p.m.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two car collision that occurred at Route 20A and Route 246 in the Town of Perry July 21, 2019.
Following an investigation, it was determined Jason M. Lowery, 46, of Perry, was operating a 2016 Ford F350 southbound on Route 246, when he failed to stop at a red light at the intersection with Route 20A.
Lowery’s vehicle proceeded into the intersection striking a 2007 Toyota Corolla being operated by Geraldine L. Recktenwald, 84, of Dansville, which was traveling eastbound on Route 20A.
The intersection remained blocked following the impact.
Lowery escaped injury and Recktenwald was transported to NOYES Hospital in Dansville, NY for minor injuries.
Lowery was issued a traffic ticket for failure to stop at a red light, and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Perry Court at a later date.
The Perry Center Fire Department, Perry Fire Department, and Perry Ambulance assisted at the scene.
William M. DeJesus, 27, of Delevan, was arrested July 18th, following a traffic stop on Route 98 in the Town of Java.
DeJesus was observed switching lanes numerous times without signaling, crossing the center lines of the roadway, and for an equipment violation.
DeJesus was stopped and signs of possible impairment were observed during a roadside investigation.
DeJesus submitted to field sobriety testing and performed poorly according to deputies.
DeJesus was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a drug influence evaluation by a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Drug Recognition Expert.
DeJesus was found to be impaired by the use of drugs and unable to operate a vehicle safely. He is charged with no turn signal, failure to keep right, DWAI-Drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, and other vehicle and traffic violations. He was released to a sober third party and will answer the charges at a later date in the Town of Java Court.
