Ajie J. Smith-Ezell, 24, of Cummings St., Rochester, is charged with criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell, tampering with physical evidence, obstructing governmental administration 2nd, resisting arrest and escape 3rd after a traffic stop for vehicle and traffic violations on Rt. 33 in Bergen on August 1, 2019.
While conducting a roadside interview with Smith-Ezell, the odor of burnt marijuana was allegedly present.
Smith- Ezell was then escorted to the rear of a marked Sheriff’s Patrol car where he was further interviewed by Investigator Parker.
A search of the vehicle allegedly yielded packaging indicative of narcotics distribution as well a quantity of one ounce of marijuana.
Smith- Ezell was further interviewed and while Deputy DeLong was attempting to remove an anomaly from Smith-Ezell’s pant leg, he allegedly began to physically obstruct Deputy DeLong and Investigator Parker from gaining access and taking possession of the item.
A brief foot chase then ensued and he was taken into custody after allegedly physically resisting arrest.
Smith-Ezell was also charged with DWAI/drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to keep right.
He was arraigned in the Town of Bergen Court and jailed in in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond bail.
Additional charges are pending.
The investigation was assisted Investigator Parker, Deputy Schildwaster, Sgt. Diehl, Deputy McCarthy, Investigator Welker, Trooper Valetta and K9 and Trooper Schmidt and K9 .
Sarah A. Fiegl, 26, o f Moore Rd., Ransomville, NY, is charged with DWI, driving with a BAC of .08% or more, front headlights out and driving to the left of pavement markings after a traffic stop in Pembroke on Main road on August 4, 2019.
Fiegl was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Pembroke Town Court on August 22, 2019 at 1:00p.m.
