Orleans County/Sheriff’s Monthly Report- October 2019

In the month of October, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department 9-1-1 Dispatch Center processed 1988 police incidents, including 795 events for Sheriff’s Road Patrol, 167 for the New York State Police and 1026 calls for the Village police agencies of Lyndonville, Medina, Albion, and Holley.

There were 599 Fire/EMS related calls dispatched countywide with 433 of those calls emergency medical in nature and 7 drug overdoses.

Sheriff’s Dept. Road Patrol Deputies handled 80 automobile accidents, including 11 with injury and 37 car-deer collisions. Road patrol also made 77 service attempts and successfully served 32 subpoenas, civil, or court papers.

The Sheriff’s Animal Control Division handled 121 incidents including 35 stray or loose animals, 2 animal bite complaints, 8 neighbor dog problems, and several other miscellaneous animal calls. In addition, 10 animals were taken into shelter on voluntary surrenders.

The Orleans County Jail processed in 71 inmates and handled 59 prisoner transports to court appearances, medical treatments, or other correctional facilities.
