BATAVIA POLICE REPORT/State street man charged with assault in incident that occurred in front of children

Mark T. Helm, 38, of State St., Batavia, is charged with assault 2nd and endangering the welfare of a child after allegedly striking another person in front of four children on November 24, 2019.

The incident caused serious physical injury to the victim.

Helm was arraigned in City Court and held without bail.

He returned to court on November 26, 2019.

Ross D. Rahn, 24, of Main St., LeRoy, is charged with DWAI, stopping on a highway and moving froma a lane unsafely after police responded to a call for a vehicle parked crossways in the road on West Main street near Vernon avenue on December 2, 2019 at 1:28a.m.

Rahn was issued uniform traffic tickets and will appear in City Court on December 18, 2019 at 9:00a.m.

Kiha S. McNear, 22, of Lake St., LeRoy, is charged with criminal mischief, criminal contempt 2nd, aggravated criminal contempt/previous conviction, and burglary 2nd/illegal entry, after allegedly entering the residence of a person who has an order of protection against him.

The incident occurred on November 25, 2019. McNear also allegedly damaged some of the person’s property.

He was arraigned in City Court on November 26, 2019 and will return to court on December 5, 2019 at 10:00a.m.

Melynda M. Gayhart, 31, of Hutchins Street, Batavia, was arrested on a bench warrant out of City Court on November 25, 2019.

Gayhart was allegedly involved in a larceny incident on February 17, 2019 on East Main street..

Gayhart was arraigned and released and will re-appear in court on December 5, 2019 at 10:00a.m.
