John W. Fenn, 32, of Perry, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 39 at Chapman Avenue in the Town of Castile on January 5, 2020.
Fenn, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be in possession of a long rifle. Through investigation, it was found that Fenn’s criminal history prohibited him from possessing guns.
Fenn is charged with criminal possession of a weapon 4th.
Pursuant to the new criminal justice reform laws, Fenn was issued an appearance ticket and released. He is scheduled to answer the charge in the Town of Castile Court on January 20, 2020.
On January 5, 2020, at approximately 10:13p.m., Deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to Griffith Road in the Town of Genesee Falls for a report of a one car motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with the operator of the vehicle, David Reyes, 35, of NY, NY, who stated he had lost control of his vehicle traveling in the inclement weather.
A brief investigation into the accident revealed that Reyes’ vehicle registration was expired and suspended due to parking violations.
He was charged with operating with registration suspended/revoked, and unregistered motor vehicle.
Reyes was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the Town of Genesee Falls Court on January 22, 2020 for arraignment.
Deputy Nowak was notified by Batavia Police that a Michael Ames, 27, of LeRoy, was in custody for an active Superior Court Warrant for failure to pay fine out of Wyoming County.
Deputies met with Batavia Police and he was turned over the Sheriff’s Department. He was transported to the Wyoming County Jail for commitment.
Ames appeared in Wyoming County Court on January 6, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
On January 3, 2020, at approximately 9:51p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on West Lake Road in the Town of Castile, after observing a vehicle and traffic violation.
After speaking with the 18 year old male operator, Deputies began to observe signs of impairment.
A roadside DWI investigation was conducted, including the performance of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. Following the testing, the 18 year old male was arrested for DWI. The male did submit to a breath test and was subsequently charged with VTL 1192(2) – Driving with .08 of 1% or more of Alcohol, VTL 1192(3) – Driving While Intoxicated, and VTL 1120(a) – Failed to Keep Right. The 18 year old male was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to the Town of Castile Court on January 13, 2020 for arraignment.
