WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Perry woman strikes deputy during arrest

On February 5, 2020 Deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Smith Road in the Town of Perry for a report of a domestic incident.

Following a brief investigation, it was discovered that Lori McClurg, 56, of Perry, had allegedly violated an order of protection which had been served less than one hour prior to the domestic incident.

McClurg was advised that she was under arrest for violating the order of protection, at which point she physically resisted arrest by striking a deputy, who was attempting to make a lawful arrest.

McClurg is charged with criminal contempt 1st, violating an order of protection by physical contact, harassment 2nd, and resisting arrest.

McClurg was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

She is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Perry Court on March 4, 2020 for further proceedings.

On February 5, 2020, a deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Route 19 in the Town of Middlebury after observing multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

The deputy approached the vehicle and spoke with the operator, Jeffrey Armitage, 38, of Wyoming. During a brief conversation, Armitage allegedly displayed several signs of impairment, along with a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath.

Armitage was asked to submit to Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, where he performed poorly. As a result, he was arrested for DWI and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for further processing.

He refused to submit to a chemical test and was subsequently charged with DWI, refusal to take a breath test, uninspected motor vehicle, and two counts of speed in zone.

Armitage was arraigned in the Town of Middlebury Court and released on his own recognizance with a return court date of February 24, 2020.

Following a traffic stop in the Village of Attica for inadequate directional signal on January 24, 2020, a roadside DWAI investigation was conducted.

Following field sobriety testing, Gavin Harkins, no age or address provided, was placed under arrest and transported to Arcade Police Department to undergo a drug influence evaluation with DRE Officer Lococo. DRE Officer Lococo determined Harkins was impaired by cannabis and unable to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Harkins is charged with inadequate directional signal, DWAI/drugs, driving while ability impaired by drug combo, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, two counts, criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Harkins was fingerprinted and processed at the Wyoming County Jail and released to a sober third party. He is to appear at Attica Village Court on February 10, 2020 to answer the charges.

Nathan J. Pries, 28, of Perry, was arrested following a traffic stop on North Main Street at Meadowview Lane in the Village of Castile on February 5, 2020.

Pries was stopped for illegal window tint, and was found to be in possession of concentrated cannabis and marijuana. Pries was taken into custody following field sobriety testing and taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for a drug influence evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert. Pries was found to be impaired by Cannabis and was subsequently charged as follows:

Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree

Unlawful Possession of Marihuana in the Second Degree

Illegal Window Tint

Pries was issued a uniformed appearance ticket and scheduled to appear in the Town of Castile Court on February 17, 2020 to answer the charges.
