WYOMING COUNTY/Heater used to thaw out waterlines cause of trailer fire in Arcade

A torpedo heater being used to thaw out waterlines under a trailer, caused a fire at 7356 Rt. 98, Lot 9, in the Town of Arcade on Saturday morning.

Six fire companies responded to the scene about 8:45a.m.

Estimated loss is $10,000 and one tenant, Frank Rogers, is being assisted by the Red Cross. The trailer is owned by Robert Whitaker.

No one was injured in the blaze. Fire crews from Arcade, Stykersville, North Java, Sheldon, Yorkshire and Chaffee/Sardina responded to the scene and were on location for about two hours.

Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Management, Wyoming County Sheriff’s Dept., Arcade Police Dept., and Arcade Electric.
