GENESEE COUNTY/K-9 Rayzor joins the Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff William A. Sheron, Jr. is pleased to introduce the new Genesee County Sheriff’s Office K-9, Rayzor, (a 14-month-old male German Shepherd Malinois) and his handler, Deputy James D. Stack.

Stack has been with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department for 3 years, he previously served as a Deputy in the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department for 2 years.

The dog is named to honor Genesee County Correction Officer Raymond F. Thompson who passed away while performing his duties in the morning hours of May 30, 2002.

Deputy Stack and Rayzor will be attending the Niagara Regional Police Service canine training program in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, beginning this coming Monday through the end of June.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the individuals, students and businesses for their generous donations that made the addition of K-9 Rayzor possible. Also to all the students that submitted naming suggestions.

“We are pleased to have Rayzor as an addition to our agency,” said Sheriff Sheron.
