As of 4:45p.m., 7 people in Genesee County are under precautionary quarantine, travel/ no symptoms, and 3 people in Orleans County are under mandatory quarantine, all have no symptoms. No positive cases of COVID-19
Testing capabilities are currently limited in Genesee and Orleans County. Anyone in need of testing should call their primary care providers and set testing up with them. When testing is available through the health department, people will be notified.
Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of well people who may have been exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. For COVID-19 there is a 14 day precautionary quarantine for people who have returned home from traveling to a level 2 or level 3 country per the CDC.
Joint Press Briefings will be held each day Monday through Friday at the Old Court house in Batavia at 4:00p.m., and Saturday and Sunday if needed.
The Genesee/Orleans County Health Department website will be updated after 5:00p.m. each day.
The Genesee County DMV will only allow 10 people at a time into their office beginning tomorrow. They are not equipped to deal with large crowds coming in from neighboring counties.
The City of Batavia Clerk’s Office will close “in person transactions” and the ice rink is now closed indefinitely.
