When you can’t take your mother out to eat for her 70th birthday or even celebrate it together, you do the next best thing.

All four of Ruth Grasby’s children, daughter-in-law, and three of her grandchildren, came out to Gainesville to sing happy birthday to her, while social distancing of course.

“We are glad that we could see you and make you happy,” says daughter Cassandra Reding

“Enjoy your cake, flowers, balloons, and perfume. We hope you have a great rest of your day and we promise when this pandemic is over, we are going out to eat,” Cassandra told her Mom in a Facebook post.

Cassandra’s family, Veronica Forrester, Richard and his wife Rhonna Grasby, Jessica Grasby, and three of Ruth’s grandchildren, Jackie, Audrie, and Nathan made the trip to Gainesville today.
