The Genesee County Local Drug Task Force concluded an investigation into the possession , transportation and sale of crack cocaine in and around Batavia with the arrest of three people on Friday evening, May 22, 2020.
On Friday, the Local Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on Anthony Welch and Amy Coulson, who were passengers in a vehicle being operated by Steven R. Colombo.
Columbo was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while his privilege to do so was suspended or revoked in New York.
Welch and Coulson were taken into custody and transported to the Genesee County Jail. Upon searching Welch, he was found to allegedly be in possession of a quantity crack cocaine that he attempted to conceal at the time of the traffic stop. Welch also allegedly possessed a quantity of drug paraphernalia.
Anthony J. Welch aka “Science”, 39, of Rochester, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd, a class B felony, tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony, promoting prison contraband 1st, a class E felony and criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd, class A misdemeanor.
Welch was arraigned in City Court and released under the supervision of Genesee Justice.
Amy L. Coulson, 33, of Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, a class A misdemeanor, and criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd, a class A misdemeanor.
Coulson allegedly possessed a quantity of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. She was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court at a later date.
Steven R. Colombo, 33, of Batavia, is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, a misdemeanor.
Colombo was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court at a later date.
Task Force members were assisted by the Batavia Police Department, Genesee County Correctional Officers and the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office.
