PRESS RELEASE
On May 22, 2020, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) out of SP Albion, arrested Randy A. Wright, 27 of Medina, NY for Vehicular Assault 2nd degree (E Felony), Driving While Intoxicated, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and other traffic infractions.
On May 22, 2020 at 11:45 P.M., Troopers responded to Martin Road for a one car collision in the town of Shelby. Further investigation revealed that a 2006 Dodge Dakota was traveling east bound on Martin Road and exited the roadway and struck several trees. The 22-year-old backseat passenger was seriously injured and airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital. The operator, Wright had signs of impairment and was arrested for DWI.
Wright was issued appearance tickets.
The NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted in this investigation.
This is still an ongoing criminal investigation.
