On June 30, 2020, Heidi Ball, 51, of Strykersville, was arrested following an embezzlement investigation.
Ball is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd, a class D felony, and falsifying business records 1st, a class E felony.
Ball is accused of stealing more than $3,000 from her employer between 2015 and 2017. She was arraigned in Wyoming County Court and released on her own recognizance. She is to re-appear in court in July, 2020.
On June 26, 2020, at around 9:39p.m., deputies responded to the Yogi Bear Campground at 5204 Youngers Road, in the Town of Java, for the report of a domestic incident.
Once on scene, deputies interviewed the victim and then requested North Java Ambulance to respond as the victim had minor injuries.
After further investigation, deputies arrested Richard J. Wendt ,59, of Batavia, for criminal obstruction of breathing and harassment 2nd degree.
Wendt was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing and released with appearance tickets. Wendt is scheduled to appear in the Town of Java Court at a later date.
Michael A Leasure, 41, of Bath, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 63 in the Town of Covington on June 27, 2020.
Leasure was stopped for speeding in zone.
During the investigation, it was believed that Leasure was under the influence of an unknown substance and not safe to operate a motor vehicle.
Leasure submitted to a DRE evaluation at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office conducted by a NYS Certified Drug Recognition Expert. It was the DRE’s expert opinion that Leasure was under the influence of a combination of drugs and was unable to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Leasure is charged with speeding in zone, following too closely, failing to comply with a lawful order, failed to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, improper passing, driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving while ability impaired by drugs combination and unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd.
Leasure was released on an appearance ticket and is to appear in the Town of Covington Court on July 13, 2020 at 7:00PM for initial arraignment.
Jesus M. Abreu, 37, of Springfield , Ma., was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw on June 25th.
Abreu was stopped for failing to obey a traffic control device. During the investigation it was discovered that Abreu had an active suspension on his license in New York State.
Abreu is charged with disobeying a traffic control device and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree. Abreu was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Warsaw Court on August 24, 2020 at 5:00PM.
Deputy Hope responded to Walmart in the Town of Warsaw for a report of a larceny on June 29, 2020.
Gavin J. Yauchzee, 28, of LeRoy, was observed by Walmart’s Asset Protection Assistant, concealing items in his pockets.
Yauchzee allegedly exited the store without paying for any of the items concealed on his person.
Yauchzee is charged with petit larceny and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Warsaw Town Court to answer to the charge on a later date.
