Wind whipped rains along with hail passed through the area of Creek and Putnam roads in Bethany late Thursday afternoon.
According to Bethany Fire Chief Jeff Fluker, winds ripped part of the roof off of a cow barn at 9778 Creek Road, Baskin Livestock. There was also some flooding across Creek road.
Owner Bill Baskin says there was some rain, hail and windy conditions at the time the roof came off. Baskin and his crew quickly began work on repairing the metal roof, which was ripped away and blowing in the wind, spooking the cows that were still inside.
Fast moving dark rain clouds continued to move through the area as National Grid crews arrived on scene on Putnam road to deal with wires and a tree down, blocking the road. The Genesee County Highway Department also responded to the area, cleaning up debris in the roadway.
