On September 2, 2020, at around 12:15a.m., a deputy from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling south on Bank Road in the Town of Middlebury, when a single vehicle was observed parked in the NYS Parks and Recreations parking lot, known as “Top of the World,” and it was occupied.
The sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as Matthew P. Kelly, 45, of Wyoming. Following the initial interview, Kelly exhibited indicators of intoxication and the deputy asked Kelly to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which he allegedly performed poorly.
Kelly was arrested and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a breath test.
Kelly is charged with DWAI/alcohol and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway and released with appearance tickets.
Kelly is scheduled to return to the Town of Middlebury Court at a later date.
On September 9, 2020, at about 4:26p.m., a Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling northbound on North Main Street in the Village of Warsaw, when a vehicle was observed traveling northbound in front of the deputy.
A random data check showed the vehicle’s registration was suspended for an insurance lapse and a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Aaron Hare , 25, of Warsaw.
Hare was processed roadside for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and was released on an appearance ticket.
Hare is scheduled to appear in the Warsaw Village Court at a later date.
