The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several “smash and grab” overnight incidents at area convenient stores on the east side of the county.
There were two incidents Saturday into Sunday this past weekend, according to Chief Deputy Joseph Graff.
The Byron Crosby’s Convenient Store at Rt. 262 and Rt.237 was hit after the front door was smashed and cigarettes were stolen, which Graff says is similar to the “smash and grab” incident at the Bergen Crosby’s Convenient Store on September 2, 2020.
In the second incident this past weekend, there was an attempt to gain entry at the Bergen Crosby’s Store, when a propane tank was used to hit the glass, however entry was not gained.
“We have some leads that we are working on,” says Graff.
Anyone with information on the incidents can contact The Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 585-343-5000.
Same thing happened at a Crosby’s in Mendon (Monroe County) this month. Door smashed with a rock and stole cigarettes. Wondering if they might be connected.
