GENESEE COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Batavia woman accused of not reporting income and applying for SNAP benefits

Brenda L. Draper, 46, of Porter Ave., Batavia, is charged with grand larceny 4th and offering a false instrument for filing 1st, both class E felonies, after allegedly not reporting income that she was earning.

Draper also filed an application that is used to determine eligibility for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program(SNAP) benefits without said income.

As a result, Draper received $1775 in SNAP benefits that she was not entitled to.

The investigation was conducted by the Genesee County Department of Social Services Investigator Dakota Nicholson.

Hope M. Grasso, 50, of Haven Lane, LeRoy, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument 2nd, attempted grand larceny 3rd and attempted grand larceny 4th, after allegedly possessing two fraudulent checks that had a combined total of $52,800.

Grasso also allegedly attempted to cash the checks at a local bank on September 21, 2020.

Grasso was arrested on October 8, 2020 and held at the jail until being arraigned in City Court on October 9. 2020.

David J. Leroy, 28, of Gabbey Rd., Pembroke, is charged with harassment 2nd after an altercation with another person on Gabbey road on October 8, 2020 at 10:30p.m.

Leroy was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Pembroke Town Court on October 21, 2020 at 1:00p.m.
