On November 18, 2020, at about 4:02p.m., the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received the report of an erratic driver traveling westbound on Route 20A, in the Town of Perry.
It was reported that the suspect vehicle was stopping in traffic and driving into oncoming traffic.
Deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area and located the vehicle at around 4:07pm on Route 20A, westbound, coming into the Village of Warsaw.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle after several violations of the vehicle and traffic law were observed. Two marked Sheriff’s patrol cars and a marked Warsaw Police Department patrol car were behind the suspect vehicle with emergency lights and sirens activated, but the suspect vehicle continued to slowly role towards the busy traffic light at Buffalo Street (Route 20A) and Main Street (Route 19).
The vehicle came to a brief stop at the red light, but then accelerated through the red traffic light, continuing westbound on West Buffalo Street.
The suspect vehicle then began to swerve from curb to curb leading deputies on a short vehicle pursuit, until it was forced to stop when a deputy blocked the roadway with his patrol car at North Maple Street.
The female suspect was identified as Deborah Bossman , 61, of East Aurora, NY, and was taken into custody without incident.
Bossman is charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle 3rd, reckless driving, failure to keep right, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, passed red light, improper signal, stop/stand/park on highway and speeding in zone.
Bossman was issued appearance tickets, released and is scheduled to appear in the Village of Warsaw Court at a later date.
Jacob W. Shearing, 30, of Gainesville, was arrested following a traffic stop on North Main Street in the Village of Silver Springs on November 20, 2020. Shearing was found in possession of a bag containing 27 ½ Alprazolam (Xanax) bars which he was alleged to be transporting for the purpose of sale.
Shearing was also found in possession of a small baggie allegedly containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. Shearing’s vehicle was impounded, and he was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing where he was charged as follows:
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree (Class D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A Misdemeanor), and Unlicensed Operation.
Shearing was arraigned virtually in front of the Warsaw Town Court, and was released on his own recognizance following arraignment. He is scheduled for further court proceedings on December 17, 2020 at 9:30a.m. in Wyoming County Court.
A seven time convicted felon, whose New York State driver’s license has been revoked since 1992, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on November 20, 2020.
Mark A. Barrett, 48, of Brooklyn, was stopped by Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies after he was observed swerving into the oncoming lane repeatedly while driving westbound on Route 20A near Maxon Road in the Town of Sheldon.
Barrett was found to have a NYS Identification Card which had fourteen total suspensions, including multiple DWI related suspensions/revocations and an ignition interlock restriction. Barrett exhibited multiple signs of alcohol intoxication, and following roadside field sobriety testing Barrett was arrested for DWI.
Barrett was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for a breath test and processing. He was further found to have two prior felony DWI convictions since 2015. Barrett was charged as follows:
Driving While Intoxicated – Third Offense (Class D Felony), Driving With .08% BAC or Higher – Third Offense (Class D Felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree (Class E Felony), Violation of Ignition Interlock Restriction (Class A Misdemeanor), and Failed To Keep Right
Barrett was arraigned virtually in front of the Warsaw Town Court, and was committed to the Wyoming County Jail without bail as a persistent felony offender. Barrett is scheduled for further court proceedings on December 17, 2020 in Wyoming County Court.
Patrick T. Fuhr, 61, of Kenmore, a three time convicted felon, was arrested following a one car motor vehicle accident on Route 20A in the Town of Perry on November 22, 2020.
Fuhr was operating a 1995 Mercury Villager eastbound on Route 20A, and according to a witness, Fuhr was driving into oncoming traffic forcing other drivers off the roadway.
Fuhr eventually drove his vehicle off the right shoulder of the roadway, into an earth embankment which sent the vehicle directly across both lanes of traffic, and down a steep ravine off the opposite side of the roadway.
Fuhr’s vehicle was found to be unregistered with no license plates on it, and Fuhr was found to have a revoked driver’s license with thirteen total suspensions/revocations.
Fuhr was allegedly found to be in possession of a glass vial which contained suspected crack cocaine, and following field sobriety testing Fuhr was arrested for DWAI/drugs. He was also found to have a previous conviction for DWAI Drugs in 2019. Fuhr was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert, and was determined to be impaired by multiple categories of drugs. Furh is charged as follows:
Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs – Second Offense (E Felony), Driving While Ability Impaired by the Combined Influence of Drugs – Second Offense (E Felony), Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree (E Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Reckless Driving, Unlicensed Operation, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Failed To Keep Right, and Moved From Lane Unsafely.
Fuhr was arraigned virtually in front of the Warsaw Town Court (CAP). Due to his prior felony convictions, Fuhr was committed to the Wyoming County Jail without bail. Fuhr is scheduled for further court proceedings on December 17, 2020 in the Wyoming County Court.
He was then turned over to the Wyoming County Jail for processing. While being booked, Fuhr was found to allegedly be in possession of another vial of suspected crack cocaine which was hidden on his person. Fuhr was charged additionally with the following:
Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree (D Felony), and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree
He was arraigned the following day in Wyoming County Court.
Fuhr was released on his own recognizance regarding the promoting prison contraband incident, but was held without bail regarding the Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs incident
