Bleyke Culver, 24, of Walnut St., Batavia, is charged with speeding in a zone, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, unlicensed operation, aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, and obstructing governmental administration, after leading law enforcement on a vehicle pursuit through Batavia on December 10, 2020 at 11:13a.m.
The Genesee County Dispatch Center received the report of a male subject refusing to leave the Genesee County Department of Social Services. Prior to law enforcement’s arrival, the male subject left the location in a motor vehicle.
Responding law enforcement was advised the subject was Culver, and that he was operating a motor vehicle while his privilege to operate the vehicle was suspended in NYS.
A marked Sheriff’s patrol car located Culver’s vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop by activation of the overhead emergency lights, however Culver failed to yield to the marked patrol car and led police on a vehicle pursuit through the City of Batavia, failing to yield.
The pursuit ended when Culver returned home to his residence. Culver was taken into custody at 11:24a.m. without incident.
Culver was transported to the Genesee County Jail for processing and was issued an appearance ticket. He will appear in City Court on January 4, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
Assisting in the investigation were members of the Batavia Police Department.
On December 9, 2020 at 3:00p.m., Renee I. Brown, 40, of Federal Dr., Batavia, and William A. Nichols II, 27, of East Ave., Holley, were each charged with petit larceny and conspiracy 6th after allegedly working together to steal $122.95 worth of merchandise from BJs Wholesale Club on Lewiston road.
Brown and Nichols were issued appearance tickets and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court on January 7, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
