ORLEANS COUNTY/NYS Commission of Correction Inspectors conduct site visit at the County Jail in regards to COVID-19 protocols

PRESS RELEASE

On November 18, 2020, The New York State Commission of Correction Inspectors conducted a site visit at the Orleans County Jail on Platt St. in Albion. Commission staff observed the COVID-19 protocols that had been implemented in the facility. Inspectors were able to review the screening of employees, incarcerated individuals and anyone entering the facility, signage throughout the facility, disinfecting procedures and the utilization of face coverings.

Commission Chairman Allen Riley issued a report indicating that our protocols that were instituted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic appear consistent with the guidance provided by the Commission, the New York State Department of Health, and the Center for Disease Control.

I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication by Superintendent Scott Wilson, the Jail Command Staff, Correction Officers, Cooks and nursing staff during these unprecedented times.

Sheriff Christopher M. Bourke
