On November 27, 2020, at around 4:21pm, Deputies received the report of a physical domestic at a residence on Main Street, in Strykersville.
Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the involved subjects, Tiffany Rydzyk ,31, of Strykersville, and Michael Rydzyk , 32, of Strykersville.
Tiffany reported that she had gotten into an argument with her husband, Michael, after he tried to steal something from her purse.
After interviewing Michael, several suspected controlled substances were secured for evidence and removed from the residence.
Deputies discovered that the domestic dispute started over a green plastic vial that contained a small amount of a white powdery substance suspected to be fentanyl. The green vial containing the suspected fentanyl was originally located in a purse near the couch in the living room, therefore accessible by small children in the residence. A concentrated cannabis oil vape pen and concentrated cannabis wax were also recovered from the scene.
Further investigation led to both Tiffany and Michael being arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree.
Both were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in the Town of Sheldon Court at a later date.
On December 12, 2020, at around 8:57pm, a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office performed a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle on Route 39, in the Town of Castile, after observing several violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
Shawn J. Story, 39, of Holley, was identified as the driver of the vehicle.
A data check showed Story did not have a license and was suspended a total of 9 times. While speaking with Story the deputy believed that Story may have been under the influence and initiated a roadside DWI investigation, which included standardized field sobriety testing.
Story performed poorly on the tests and was placed under arrest for DWAI/drugs. Story was then transported to the Wyoming Count Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a drug influence evaluation conducted by a NYS Certified Drug Recognition Expert of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office. Following the evaluation, it was the DRE’s expert opinion that Story was under the influence of several different drug categories and could not operate a motor vehicle safely.
Story is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 1st degree, a class E felony, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 2nd degree, driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving while ability impaired by drugs combo, unlicensed operator, improper turn signal, no/inadequate headlights and no/inadequate stop lamps.
Story was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Castile Court at a later date.
Following a traffic stop on Route 20A, in the Town of Orangeville, Ryan P. Donnelly, 36, of East Aurora, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd degree on December 8, 2020.
A deputy was patrolling eastbound on Route 20A, when he observed a grey Volkswagen, also operating eastbound in front of the patrol car. A random data check of the registration and registered owner showed that Donnelly was suspended for failure to pay child support on December 4, 2020.
A vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted near Syler Road and Donnelly was positively identified as the operator of the vehicle.
Donnelly was issued an appearance ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Orangeville Court at a later date.
