In the month of December, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department 9-1-1 Dispatch Center processed 1622 police incidents, including 645 events for Sheriff’s Road Patrol, 172 for the New York State Police and 805 calls for the Village police agencies of Lyndonville, Medina, Albion, and Holley.
There were 577 Fire/EMS related calls dispatched countywide with 453 of those calls emergency medical in nature and 3 drug overdoses.
Sheriff’s Dept. Road Patrol Deputies handled 67 automobile accidents, including 8 with injury and 32 car-deer collisions. Road patrol, also, made 83 service attempts and successfully served 46 subpoenas, civil, or court papers.
The Sheriff’s Animal Control Division handled 74 incidents including 22 stray or loose animals, 5 animal bite complaints, 7 neighbor dog problems, and several other miscellaneous animal calls. In addition, 7 animals were taken in to shelter on a voluntary surrender.
The Orleans County Jail processed in 18 new inmates and handled 5 transports to other facilities, court appointment, or medical appointments.
