On January 9, 2021, Tyler M. Smith, 20, of Arcade, was arrested on a superior court warrant for violation of probation.
The warrant was issued on January 8, 2021 by Judge Mohun of the Wyoming County Superior Court, after Smith had violated his terms of probation.
Smith was on felony probation after being convicted of strangulation in the 2nd degree. Smith was taken directly to the Wyoming County Jail where he will be held without bail until he is arraigned.
Tawnya L. Muscato, 30, of Batavia, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 98 at School Street in the Town of Sheldon on December 27, 2020.
Muscato was stopped for a speeding infraction which occurred on Route 20A, where she was observed driving at a speed of 56MPH in a 35MPH speed zone.
During the traffic stop, Muscato was found to allegedly be in possession of five bags of suspected Fentanyl and multiple pieces of drug use and drug packaging paraphernalia.
Muscato also performed poorly on roadside field sobriety testing and was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office for processing. While at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, a Drug Recognition Expert from Warsaw Police Department assisted by conducting a drug influence evaluation.
Muscato was determined to be impaired by drugs and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Muscato was subsequently charged with DWAI/drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd, and speed in zone.
Muscato was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charges in the Town of Sheldon Court on January 11, 2021. Muscato was released to a sober third party.
On January 10, 2021 at about 12:15am, deputies from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Village of Gainesville for a reported domestic incident.
Upon arrival, Deputies located both involved parties at the residence and found there to be a stay-away order of protection between the two.
The victim in the incident advised deputies that the male, Jayson Connolly, 46, of Gainesville, allegedly struck her in the face during the altercation.
As a result, Connolly was arrested and charged with, criminal contempt 1st degree, physical contact, and harassment 2nd degree.
Connolly was arraigned and remanded to the Wyoming County Jail without bail. A return court date has been scheduled in Wyoming County Court.
On January 6, 2021, David P. Haka, 57, of Scottsville, was taken into custody after being released from the Wyoming County Jail after an incident that occurred in the Town of Warsaw in September, 2020.
Haka had three active warrants for his arrest, two from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office and one from the City of Batavia Police Department.
Haka was transported to Genesee County where he was turned over to Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies on the active warrants.
