Wyoming County Sheriff’s deputies responded to West Middlebury Road in the Town of Middlebury, for a report of a one car rollover motor vehicle accident on January 11, 2021.
Once on location, a sedan was located lying on its roof in a ditch on the north side of West Middlebury Road. The driver and passenger advised they did not sustain any injuries.
While on scene, deputies could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, whose name cannot be released due to his age, was subsequently charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, and moving from lane unsafely.
The driver of the vehicle was processed and released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to answer to the charges at a later date.
On January 8, 2021, at around 2:45pm, a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office observed a male operating a midsize John Deere tractor northeast on Main Street, in the Village of Castile, and observed several violations of the vehicle and traffic law.
A vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted in the Carney’s Market parking lot and the male operator was identified as Todd H. DeGolyer, 64, of Castile.
DeGolyer originally gave the deputy on scene his brother’s name and date of birth during the investigation, but the deputy had prior knowledge that Todd was the operator of the tractor and he was currently suspended three times for failure to appear in the City of Salamanca in 2014. Todd also had an outstanding warrant out of the Town of Gainesville Court for a DWI charge in 2009.
During the traffic stop, DeGolyer exhibited several signs of possible intoxication and the deputy began a roadside DWI investigation. Following standardized field sobriety testing, DeGolyer was arrested for DWAI Drugs and he later refused further testing.
DeGolyer was ultimately charged with criminal impersonation 2nd degree, DWAI Drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 3rd degree, unlicensed operator and no/improper signal.
DeGolyer was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court in front of Judge Fusani for the DWI refusal and the outstanding warrant.
Following the arraignment, DeGolyer was released on his own recognizance, and is scheduled to appear in the Wyoming County Court at a later date.
Jerome P. Eunis, 28, of Brooklyn, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A at Christ Road in the Town of Warsaw on January 16, 2021.
Eunis was observed driving a 2017 Mini Cooper, eastbound on Route 20A at Gath Road in the Town of Orangeville, at a speed of 94 MPH where maximum allowed speed was 55 MPH.
Roadway conditions at the time were ice covered.
During the course of the traffic stop, Eunis was found to allegedly be in possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, and concentrated cannabis.
Eunis was arrested and processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged as follows:
Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, reckless driving, speed over 55MPH, uninspected motor vehicle, and illegal window tint.
Eunis was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charges in the Town of Orangeville Court on February 24, 2021.
