Maurice G. Leach, 44, of W. Main St., Batavia, is charged with burglary, criminal mischief, assault 3rd/intent to cause physical injury, harassment 2nd, criminal mischief 3rd/damaging another person’s property, greater than $250 and resisting arrest, after police responded to an address on W. Main street where Leach reportedly punched and broke a window screen to a dwelling, then entered the dwelling without permission, and then allegedly assaulted the occupant on January 16, 2021 at 3:25a.m.
Leach resisted arrest.
He was arraigned virtually at the Genesee County Jail in City Court and held without bail. He will re-appear in City Court on February 18, 2021 at 1:30p.m.
Stephen L. Hegel, 60, of High St., Avon, NY, is charged with grand larceny 3rd and two counts of grand larceny 4th degree, after an investigation into a larceny of more than $10,000 cash from a business at 50 Franklin street.
Hegel was employed at the business at that time. The charges stem from three separate incidents that occurred on October 8, 2020.
Hegel was arraigned on January 19, 2021 and remanded to the Genesee County Jail. He will re-appear in City Court on February 23, 2021.
Daniel J. Wolfe, 47, of Bank St., Batavia, is was arrested on a warrant on January 19, 2021, for burglary 2nd and two counts of criminal contempt 2nd.
The charges stem from a November 13, 2020 incident where Wolfe allegedly violated an order of protection in the dwelling of the protected party.
He was processed and transported to the jail, where he was arraigned in City Court by Judge Rogers, who ordered Wolfe held on no bail.
Wolfe is due back in court on March 4, 2021 at 2:30p.m.
Kristen E. Sekuterski, 34, of Orleans Ave., Batavia, is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, after an investigation with the assistance of Homeland Security, the NYSP and the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department.
Sekuterski allegedly possessed a controlled substance with intent to sell.
She was arraigned virtually by Judge Rogers in City Court, and released on her own recognizance.
Sekuterski will appear again in City Court on March 9, 2021 at 3:00p.m.
Tevin A. Lise, 30, of N. Park St., Clyde, NY, and Maurice D. Bishop, no age or address provided, are each charged with unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd, following a traffic stop on Ross street on January 12, 2021 at 7:44p.m.
Lise is additionally charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd.
Both were issued appearance tickets and will appear in City Court on March 2, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
Michael A. Sweet, 34, of Bumbacker Rd., Gainesville, NY, is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop in Wyoming County on January 5, 2021 at 3:00p.m.
Sweet allegedly took a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and failed to return it.
Sweet was transported to the Batavia Police Department for processing and was released on an appearance ticket returnable to City Court on April 6, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
Janell M. Sauer, 45, of Gorski St., Buffalo, NY, is charged with petit larceny following a shoplifting incident at 390 West Main street on January 16, 2021 at 1:32pm.
Sauer was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in City Court for arraignment on April 13, 2021 at 1:00p.m.
Alphonso R. Daniels III, 27, of Oneida St., Rochester, NY, was arrested on a an arrest warrant during a traffic stop, after a traffic violation was observed on Oak street on January 17, 2021.
Daniels III is charged with owning/harboring an unlicensed dog, dangerous dogs/bite causes serious physical injury and dog running a large after a February 13, 2020 incident.
He was released on an appearance ticket, per Judge Rogers, and will appear in City Court on February 23, 2021.
Jason A. McFollins, 43, of N. Spruce St., Batavia, was arrested after turning himself in at Batavia Police Headquarters for failure to appear/bench warrant on June 25, 2020.
McFollins was issued an appearance ticket in City Court and will re-appear on January 27, 2021 at 2:00p.m.
