On January 10, 2021, at around 6:10pm, a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling westbound on School Road, in the Town of Gainesville, when a gray Dodge Caravan was observed traveling westbound crossing over the yellow center line several times.
The vehicle continued westbound across Lamont Road, on School Road, and traveling left of center not leaving sufficient room for oncoming traffic to pass. The vehicle came to a stop at Route 19 and failed to signal its turn until it came to a complete stop.
A vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted on Route 19 at Metcalf Road and the driver was identified as Jessica Rodriguez, 43, of Pike.
During the roadside investigation, the deputy observed several indicators that Rodriguez may be under the influence and began a roadside DWI investigation, which included standardized field sobriety testing.
Following field sobriety testing, Rodriguez was placed under arrest for DWAI Drugs and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where she submitted to a drug influence evaluation conducted by a NYS certified Drug Recognition Expert.
Following the evaluation, it was the DRE’s expert opinion that Rodriguez was under the influence of multiple drug categories and could not operate a motor vehicle safely.
Rodriguez was ultimately charged with DWAI/drugs, DWAI/drugs combo, failure to keep right and improper signal-less than 100 ft. Rodriguez was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Gainesville Town Court at a later date.
On January 19, 2021, a deputy with the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling northbound on South Main Street, in the Village of Warsaw, when a male was observed driving a grey lawn mower on the shoulder of the roadway.
While passing the lawn mower, it crossed the white fog line and came into the deputy’s lane. A vehicle and traffic enforcement stop was conducted and the male was identified as Edward C. Veihdeffer, 56, of Warsaw.
A license check showed Veihdeffer had 5 totals suspensions on his license, with 4 scoffs on 2 dates.
Veihdeffer was arrested and released with appearance tickets for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree and unlicensed operator. He is scheduled to appear in the Warsaw Village Court at a later date.
Heath N. Hendrickson, 31, of Caledonia, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop on Silver Lake Road at West View Drive in the Town of Perry on January 18, 2021.
Hendrickson was stopped for crossing the centerline of the roadway multiple times, and during the traffic stop Hendrickson was found in possession of 20.29 grams of marijuana along with marijuana smoking paraphernalia.
Hendrickson performed poorly on standardized field sobriety testing and was taken into custody. His vehicle was towed from the scene, and Hendrickson was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where a Drug Recognition Expert from the Arcade Police Department conducted a drug influence evaluation with Hendrickson.
Following the evaluation, he was found to be impaired by a drug and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Hendrickson was subsequently charged with DWAI/drugs, failed to keep right, and unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd.
Hendrickson was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charges in the Town of Perry Court on February 24, 2021. He was later released to a sober third party.
Dale Converse Sr., 33 of Pike, was arrested following an investigation into a custodial complaint in the Town of Pike on January 22, 2021.
Through an investigation, it was learned that Converse was in a verbal domestic with another subject in the household. During the verbal domestic it was alleged that Converse kicked and broke property within the residence.
Converse was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal mischief 4th.
Converse was arraigned in the Town of Warsaw Court for purposes of an order of protection issuance. He is to appear in the Wyoming County Court in March for further proceedings
