The Batavia Blue Devils are 5-0 on the season after defeating Midlakes 56-0 on Wednesday evening at VanDetta Stadium.
Batavia Quarterback Jesse Reinhart didn’t waste any time, going straight to the air with two almost identical pass plays to Alex Hale, putting the Blue Devils up 14-0 with less than five minutes left in the 1st quarter. With 1:16 remaining, Tyler Budziniack added 6 more and the extra point by Carter Havens was good and Batavia held a commanding 21-0 lead.
In the second, the Blue Devils went to their ground game, allowing Terrez Smith to collect yards that eventually led to an easy run into the endzone to make it 27-0. Midway through the 2nd quarter, Reinhart found Budziniack once again with a 54 yard pass and run to the endzone to make the score 35-0 at the half.
The final score was 56-0. Midlakes will drop to 0-4.
Next Tuesday, Batavia will meet divisional rival Palmyra-Macedon who has a 3-1 record before this evening’s match up with Honeoye Falls-Lima. The game is schedule for 6:30p.m. at VanDetta Stadium.
