Derell A. Porter, 31, of Buffalo, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Orangeville on April 29, 2021.
Porter was stopped for equipment infractions, and was found to be driving with 13 active suspensions on his NYS Identification Card. Porter was also found to have a three year old child in the rear seat with no child restraint device. Porter was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third Degree, unlicensed operation, side windows non-transparent, no front plate, and back seat passenger under the age of 4 improper restraint.
Porter and his vehicle were released to a licensed driver, and he was scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Orangeville Court in May.
On April 27, 2021, at about 4:06p.m., deputies were patrolling northbound on Route 246, in the Town of Covington, when a vehicle was observed traveling southbound in violation of the NYS vehicle and traffic law. The deputy pursued the vehicle and initiated a vehicle and traffic enforcement stop on Route 246 near Lagrange Road.
Tyler M. Brown, 20, of Perry was identified as the operator of the vehicle and while speaking with Brown, the deputy believed that he may be under the influence and started a roadside DWI investigation.
Following standardized field sobriety testing, Brown was placed under arrest for DWAI/drugs and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a drug influence evaluation conducted by a NYS Certified Drug Recognition Expert.
Following the drug influence evaluation, it was the DRE’s expert opinion that Brown was allegedly under the influence of a single drug category and could not operate a motor vehicle safely upon the roadway. Brown was charged with speed exceed 55mph and DWAI/drugs and released on an appearance ticket. Brown is scheduled to appear in the Town of Covington Court at a later date.
Cody W. Leibold, 35 of Gloversville, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop o Route 20A in the Town of Perry on May 1, 2021. Leibold was stopped for an equipment violation, and during the traffic stop Leibold was found to have suspended driving privileges in the State of New York, with one active suspension for failure to pay a fine.
Leibold was processed roadside and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, and an equipment violation/side windows non transparent.
Leibold was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charges in the Town of Perry Court in May. Leibold and his vehicle were picked up by a valid driver.
