A malfunctioning A/C unit located in the ceiling, was the cause of a smoke in the building call at the Glen Iris Inn at 6507 Park road in Genesee Falls at Letchworth Park on Tuesday morning.
Seven fire crews responded to the scene about 5:59a.m.
According to Wyoming County Emergency Services, damage was contained to the room of origin and there was minor smoke damage in some areas of the building. Ten occupied guests rooms were evacuated without incident. The guests were able to return to their rooms after the incident was investigated.
Estimated loss is $5,000. No one was injured.
Fire crews from Pike, Bliss, Castile, Gainesville, Perry, Fillmore and Wiscoy-Rossburg were on location for about 2 hours. Also assisting on scene, Wyoming County Emergency Services and the NYS Parks Police.
