Keith R. Holmes, 31, of Peekskill, NY was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Perry on May 24, 2021.
Holmes was stopped for having no front license plate on his vehicle. The odor of burned marijuana was detected coming from within Holmes’ vehicle, and a partially burned marijuana blunt was located in the front seat area.
Holmes performed poorly on standardized field sobriety testing, and he was then taken into custody for DWAI/Drugs. His vehicle was towed from the scene, and he was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted a drug influence evaluation. Holmes was determined to be impaired by cannabis and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
Holmes was issued an appearance ticket for the charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs, consumption of cannabis in a motor vehicle, no front plate, and driver’s view obstructed. Holmes was released and is scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Perry Court on June 9, 2021.
The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Route 77 in the Town of Bennington, for a report of a single vehicle property damage crash on May 25, 2021 at 9:09a.m..
Deputies arrived on location and spoke to the operator and sole occupant, William J. Emmal, 30, of Alden, NY. Emmal stated he drove off the roadway due to a blown tire. He showed signs of intoxication and submitted to field sobriety testing.
Emmal was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office. He was administered a breath test with a positive result at .08% or above B.A.C.
Emmal was issued the following Uniform traffic tickets:
Moved from lane unsafely-1128A
D.W.I. 1192-3
DWI-driving with more than .08% of 1% of Alcohol or above-1192-2
Emmal was released to a third party and is to appear in the Town of Bennington Court at a later date.
