In the month of May, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department 911 Dispatch Center processed 2069 police incidents, including 795 events for Sheriff’s Road Patrol, 221 for the New York State Police and 1013 calls for the Village police agencies of Lyndonville, Medina, Albion, and Holley, along with other law enforcement.

There were 610 Fire/EMS related calls dispatched countywide with 449 of those calls emergency medical in nature and 10 drug overdoses.

Sheriff’s Dept. Road Patrol Deputies handled 42 automobile accidents, including 10 with injury and 18 car-deer collisions. Road patrol, also, made 83 service attempts and successfully served 53 subpoenas, civil, or court papers.

The Sheriff’s Animal Control Division handled 127 incidents including 33 stray or loose animals, 4 animal bite complaints, 9 neighbor dog problems, and several other miscellaneous animal calls. In addition, 7 animals were taken in to shelter on a voluntary surrender.

The Orleans County Jail processed in 52 new inmates and handled 12 transports to other facilities, court appointment, or medical appointments.
