Patrel D. Babers, 28, a convicted felon from Rochester, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 98 and Route 20A in the Town of Sheldon on July 26, 2021.
Babers was stopped for traffic infractions at which time he was found to be smoking cannabis inside the vehicle with an unrestrained three year old child in the rear seat. Babers was also found to have a non-driver identification card with a status of revoked from a 2020 DWI conviction in Rochester City Court.
Babers performed poorly on standardized field sobriety testing at which time he was taken into custody for DWAI/ Drugs. He was transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. Babers was determined to be impaired by drugs and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree, a felony, DWAI/Drugs, second offense, a felony, aggravated DWI/child in vehicle, a Felony, operating in violation of ignition interlock restriction, aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, unlicensed operation, back seat passenger under age 4 no restraint, consumption of cannabis in a motor vehicle, window tint, uninspected motor vehicle, unregistered motor vehicle, failed to notify DMV of address change
Babers was processed at the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office and then released with an appearance ticket in compliance with NYS Bail Reform. Babers was released to a sober third party and scheduled to answer the charges on August 9, 2021 in the Town of Sheldon Court.

A convicted felon with a history of assault, drug and weapon possession, and manslaughter was arrested following a traffic stop on West Buffalo Street in the Village of Warsaw. Bryon W. Zamboni, 52, of Hanover, PA, who was convicted of manslaughter following a 1990 murder in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, was stopped on West Buffalo Street for an equipment infraction on July 25, 2021.
Zamboni was found to be smoking cannabis while driving, and he was found in illegal possession of Amphetamine.
Zamboni performed poorly on standardized field sobriety testing, and was then taken into custody.
Zamboni’s vehicle was towed from the scene, and he was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office where he was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. He was found to allegedly be impaired by multiple categories of drugs and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
Zamboni is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, DWAI/drugs, driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs, consumption of cannabis in a motor vehicle, and obstructed plate.
Zamboni was issued an appearance ticket and scheduled to answer the charges in the Village of Warsaw Court on August 9, 2021.

One driver was cited for failure to yield right of way following a two vehicle collision on Route 78 at East Arcade Road in the Town of Java on July 24, 2021.
Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a car versus semi head-on collision at Route 78 at East Arcade Road. Deputies arrived to find a demolished 2019 Nissan facing south in the middle of East Arcade Road, and there was also a 1988 Peterbilt tractor trailer, full size combination, stopped on Route 78 with front right damage.
Following scene investigation, it was determined that Robert J. Lofaso, 52, of Webster, was driving the 2019 Nissan northbound on East Arcade Road, and a second driver was driving the 1988 Peterbilt southbound on Route 78. Lofaso failed to slow or yield at the yield sign and drove directly into the path of the 1988 Peterbilt. Lofaso’s vehicle struck the 1988 Peterbilt in the front right and was then thrown back south onto East Arcade Road where the vehicle came to a rest facing south.
Lofaso was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment, and the tractor trailer driver was not injured. Lofaso was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at yield sign, and he is scheduled to answer the charge in the Town of Java Court at a later date.
Assisting agencies at the scene were the New York State Police, Wyoming County Emergency Services, Monroe Ambulance, Mercy Flight, North Java Fire Department, Arcade Fire Department, Bliss Fire Department, Barber’s Automotive, and Becker’s Towing.

Rashidy Oliver, 36, of Binghamton, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 20A in the Town of Orangeville on July 24, 2021.
Oliver was stopped for following too closely, and during the traffic stop Oliver was found to have a suspended NYS driver’s license for failure to answer a summons in Cortland County.
Oliver is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, following too closely, and no seatbelt. Oliver was issued an appearance ticket and scheduled to answer the charges in the Town of Orangeville Court on August 4, 2021.
