On August 14, 2021, the Albion Police Department with assistance from the New York State Police Department, Orleans County Sheriff’s Department and Medina Police Department responded to the report of a male with a gun shot wound to the leg in the area of South Main Street and Beaver Street.
Upon arrival, Albion Police Officers observed a 23 year old male lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gun shot wound to the right leg. Albion Police Officers immediately provided medical assistance to the victim by placing a tourniquet on the victims injured leg.
COVA ambulance responded to the scene and transported the victim to Strong Memorial Hospital. The victim was
treated for non life threatening injuries and released.
The Albion Police Department believes that this was an isolated incident and that there is no immediate threat to the Albion community.
This incident is being actively investigated by the Albion Police Department and New York State Police.
