A Horse’s Friend visited the City of Batavia on Labor Day, visiting neighborhoods in the area of Washington avenue and beyond. The group of about 10 riders waved to residents as they made their way though City streets.
Matthew Doward, Director of Horse’s Friend and native of Batavia, says the group is hoping to start a program in Batavia, they are based in Rush, NY. A Horse’s Friend is an outreach program whose mission is to expose youth in inner cities to the values of respect, responsibility and role models through the use of horses and horseback riding.
