All City of Batavia Schools will be closed tomorrow and all after school activities are cancelled, after the district received threats on social media.
Interim Superintendent Scott Bischoping says in the past few hours, the City of Batavia School District has received threats via social media and that the City of Batavia Police are investigating those threats.
“We are working closely with the Batavia Police Department, and out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to close all buildings in the district tomorrow, Friday December 3rd, while the police department continues their investigation into whether these threats are credible,” Bischoping says in a recorded message to parents.
Bischoping will update parents as information becomes available.
“The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we are taking these allegations against our school very seriously.”
If any student or family has any information regarding the threats, you are asked to contact the Batavia Police Department at 585-345-6350 or the confidential tip line at 585-345-6370.
