Macy Paradise III and Fiancé Nicole Johnson have officially cut the ribbon at their grand opening event of The Brick at the Harvester Center in Batavia on Friday night.
Paradise and Johnson have been renovating the space on the ground floor and opened their doors with a Kids Dance Party at 5:00p.m., inviting kids ages 3-12, along with their parents, to the open, fun space to move to the music, while tossing and hitting balloons.
“Initially it started as a place to do group fitness classes,” says Paradise.
“I’m a personal trainer by trade and also a DJ, I was looking for a way to mush the two together and have a fun space for people to get healthy, get fit, and listen to some good music and have a great time while they work out and it exploded into the idea of keeping an open space and hosting more community skill building events, like Kids and Teen Dances, Kids Movie Night, Mommy and Me Tie-dye, some credit classes and nutrition class, things the community needs that they were not being served before.”
The Brick is looking to cater to all ages. They plan to start walk in fitness classes on Monday May 2nd from 5-7p.m. The cost is $5 per class and each class is 30 minutes. The classes are meant to get people moving and for kids, adults, the elderly and folks with disabilities.
The open space is also available to rent for private events like baby showers, small weddings or office events. The space is a clean, low budget place according to Paradise.
Being the Marketing Manager at the Harvester, Paradise III is hoping to bring more foot traffic to the building.
