WYOMING COUNTY SHERIFF’S REPORT/Hume man facing charges after traffic stop in Genesee Falls

Christopher Bitsas, 40, of Hume, NY, was arrested following a traffic stop on Route 19A in the Town of Genesee Falls on May 13, 2022.

Bitsas was stopped for multiple traffic infractions, and during the stop Bitsas was found to have a non-driver identification card with 15 total suspensions/revocations. Bitsas was also towing a trailer with switched trailer plates, and the Dodge Ram he was driving had a forged NYS Certificate of Inspection being displayed. Bitsas was further found to allegedly be in possession of a digital scale with suspected methamphetamine on the surface of it.

Bitsas is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, displayed forged certificate of inspection, unlicensed operation, switched trailer plates, and driver’s view obstructed.

Bitsas was issued an appearance ticket to answer the charges in the Town of Genesee Falls Court on May 25, 2022.

Makayla E. Figueroa Cautino, 25, and inmate at the Wyoming County Jail, was arrested after she was found to have contacted a protected party by phone in violation of a full stay away order of protection.

Figueroa Cautino was alleged to have made the contact while incarcerated.

Figueroa Cautino is charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, and she is scheduled to appear in Warsaw Village Court on May 23, 2022.
