Spring is in full swing, and with it comes Genesee County Farm Bureau’s annual event,
Kinderfarmin’.
After a 2-year hiatus, the tradition of the event has returned with many smiling faces. On Wednesday morning, Kinderfarmin’ was held at Hildene Farms on Roanoke road in Pavilion, who has agreed to be the host for the next two years. The event has been happening for over 40 years (formerly called Dairy Days) and has become a staple for classrooms across Genesee County. Kinderfarmin’ has been recognized by the American Farm Bureau Federation as an “Event of Excellence”.
Today’s event attracted 589 kindergarten students, teachers and chaperones from every
district in Genesee County, and also from Attica this year. All participants get to experience a working dairy farm for a day with hands-on learning stations and tours.
The Farm Bureau partnered with over 15 local businesses and organizations and more than 40 volunteers
to provide a unique experience that is both fun and educational for all ages. Kinderfarmin” highlights
all that goes into making dairy products, like milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, and ice cream.
