BATAVIA/Over 750 participate in the 2022 GLOW Corporate Cup

The GLOW Corporate Cup, a 5K team race to benefit the Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming YMCA, had over 750 participants in this year’s event which was held at Centennial Park in Batavia on Thursday evening.

This year, the starting line was moved to Park avenue, near State street, because of the construction on Richmond avenue.

Participants are employees from local businesses who compete as racing teams. This year 52 teams participated. Following the race, an AfterGLOW, the region’s largest office party, was held for all participants.

First place/men-Perry MacKinnon(15:23)-24, of Quebec, Canada-Mackinnon says he is a track and field runner at Cornell University, and he will be entering his senior year in the fall. Today was his last day at Farm Credit East as an intern.

First place/women- Kim Mills, 31, (19:32) of Oakfield, NY

“I’m glad to be out here jogging it, and I just love having all the support and everybody cheering the police on, it’s a nice turn of events when in my profession we usually see people in their worst situation, I get out here and see this, it’s just amazing,” says Ivison. Ivison’s time was 36:57. Detective Eric Hill (time 38:31) and Officer Joshua Girvin with a time of 46:01.
