A three-vehicle accident in Stafford has sent several people to area hospitals.
At about 3:15p.m., fire crews, ambulances and law enforcement responded to the area of 6204 Main road for a red sedan that somehow drove up onto a landscape trailer while workers were on and near the trailer.
A logging truck was headed east on Main road and the red sedan was traveling behind it, when the logging trailer allegedly made a wide turn into a residential driveway. Deputies are not sure if the red passenger vehicle went to either pass the logging truck or continued forward, or the logging truck re-entered the passenger car’s lane of travel, pushing it up onto the landscape trailer which was parked on the south shoulder of Main road facing east.
Sheriff’s Deputies say either the passenger car struck them, or they jumped off the trailer, no confirmation of this at this time.
According to Sgt. Andrew Hale with the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, two people who were on the landscape trailer at the time of the accident suffered injuries, one person with a possible broken arm and the other with a possible broken leg. Both were transported to Strong Hospital non-emergency by ambulance. Three others who were near the landscape trailer were transported to the hospital as precautionary. The driver of the car and the logging truck were not injured.
Hale says tickets will be issued. At this time, it is unknown who will be ticketed or what charges they may face until the investigation is complete.,
This Main Road in Stafford is a raceway. The speed limit is 40 mph. Very few people slow to the speed posted. Most vehicles have cruse control. Turn it on, l would have to clock it but it can’t be more than 1 mile from start to finish.
