A Genesee County Grand Jury has indicted Jeremy Ives, 47, of Batavia, accusing him of two counts of attempted assault in the first degree, a class C violent felony, kidnapping in the second degree, a class B felony, criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, a class B felony, and two counts of criminal use of a firearm in the second degree, a class C violent felony and menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, after a shooting near 2 Elm street on August 12, 2022.
Police allege that Ives fired a single shot, injuring two persons. Detectives believe the weapon used was a shotgun, which Ives is alleged to have been in possession of unlawfully. One of the victims was transported to the hospital, where they were treated and later released. The other victim was treated on scene and released.
Following the shooting, Ives fled the scene in a vehicle with other passengers. It is alleged that one of those passengers attempted to exit the vehicle multiple times, however, Ives threatened the passenger, preventing their escape.
Ives has been in jail without bail since his arrest on August 19, 2022.
