Devon A. Wright, 22, who was the subject of a wanted poster for Crime Stoppers after evading law enforcement for seven months, was sentenced in Genesee County Court on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Wright was taken into custody after being found in Lockport in July of 2022. He was wanted for violating his release terms on a recent plea pertaining to the charges of attempted criminal possession of a weapon 2nd, assault 3rd, attempted assault 1st, and criminal sexual act 4th. Wright was also wanted for criminal tampering 3rd, and harassment 2nd (2 counts) stemming from an incident that occurred on November 27, 2021 at a residence on Central Avenue.
On Tuesday, Wright was sentenced on the charge of attempted assault 1st degree to 12 years along with 5 years of post-release supervision. He was sentenced to 7 years on the charge of criminal sexual act 3rd degree, with 10 years of post-release supervision and a DNA/Sex offender fee of $1,425.
Wright will serve 5 years determinate time on the charge of attempted criminal possession of a weapon 2nd, with 3 years of post-release supervision.
On the charge of assault 3rd degree, he was sentenced to 364 days in jail.
Wright will serve a total 24 years in prison. The sentences run consecutively, which means Wright will finish serving the sentence for one offense before he starts serving the sentence for any other offense.
Orders of protection were issued for all victims.
