On December 2, 2022, at about 12:41a.m., deputies charged two Wyoming County men after a traffic stop on Parmalee road in LeRoy.
Chad W. Main, 41, of Warsaw, NY, allegedly fled on foot from a traffic stop and was apprehended a short time later by Sgt. Clor and Deputy Moore. After an investigation, deputies say Main was allegedly in possession of controlled substances and was allegedly operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs.
Main is charged with DWAI/drugs, a felony, aggravated unlicensed operation 1st degree, a felony, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a misdemeanor, obstructing governmental administration 2nd, a misdemeanor, uninspected motor vehicle, unlicensed operator, operating a vehicle with an open alcoholic container, failure to signal and no/inadequate plate lamps.
Main was arraigned in LeRoy Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
A passenger in the vehicle, James W. Sherbert Jr., 49, of Perry, NY, is charged with two counts of criminal possession of controlled substances 7th degree after allegedly being in possession of two types of controlled substances.
Sherbert was released on appearance tickets and will appear in LeRoy Town Court on January 3, 2023 at 1:00p.m.
Also assisting in the incident was Deputy Kipler, NYS Police and the LeRoy Police Department.

On December 1, 2022, at about 7:00p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Park road in the Town of Batavia.
After an investigation, it is alleged that Jason W. Whitehead Jr., 33, of Batavia, NY, was operating the vehicle with a revoked non-driver ID only and was out of compliance with Interlock Device restrictions. Deputies also say that Whitehead Jr. was allegedly in possession of a weapon and illegal narcotics.
A passenger in the vehicle, Herbert B. Gennis, 33, of Batavia, NY, was also allegedly in possession of narcotics with intent to sell them.
Charges:
Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree with intent to sell, a class B felony.
Criminal possession of controlled substance 5th degree with intent to sell, a class D felony.
Criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony.
Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Criminally using drug paraphernalia 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree, an unclassified misdemeanor.
Operating without an Interlock Device, an unclassified misdemeanor.
Various vehicle and traffic law violations.
Both Whitehead Jr. and Gennis were arraigned in the town of Batavia Court by Judge Funke and released on their own recognizance. They are scheduled to re-appear in court on January 10, 2023 at 2:30p.m.
