The Senior Center Quilt Guild presented four local veterans with a Quilt of Valor on Tuesday afternoon at the Senior Center at 2 Bank Street in Batavia.

Quilts were draped over 3 out of the 4 veterans who accepted the group’s donation. The group says it’s their way of thanking veterans for their years of service either during war or times of peace.

“We make our own patterns and make a quilt, then we have it sent to a woman in New Jersey who does long arm quilting, she donates her time. Then the quilts come back to us, and we do the binding, and they are ready to be presented,” says Marge Coniber, a member of the Senior Center Quilt Guild.
