Sheriff Christopher M. Bourke reports that a lengthy investigation by the Orleans and Monroe County Sheriff’s Offices resulted in the recovery of numerous stolen items in the Town of Clarendon.
Monroe County Sheriff Deputies were investigating a string of larcenies from stores around the Brockport area and information led investigators to 4216 Fancher Road in Holley, Town of Clarendon.

A search warrant was executed on the property and investigators recovered a stolen UTV, a Zero turn lawn mower, utility trailer, jet ski, and a large tow behind camper. Some items had been modified to conceal or remove vehicle identification numbers. The suspects had fled the state shortly after the execution of the warrant.
Jennifer T. Sportsman ,48, was arrested on May 5th, 2023, after she returned to the residence to retrieve property. Sportsman is charged with 4 counts of criminal possession of stolen property 3rd degree, D felonies; criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree, an E felony; and criminal facilitation 4th degree, an A misdemeanor. She was arraigned in County Court and released on her own recognizance.
Wade J. Murphy ,50, was located and arrested in Beaufort County, South Carolina on May 20th, 2023, and is currently awaiting extradition to Orleans County. Murphy is charged with 4 counts of criminal possession of stolen property 3rd degree, D felonies; criminal possession of stolen property 4th degree, an E felony; criminal possession of a weapon 3rd degree, a D felony; and criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree, an A misdemeanor. Murphy has additional charges in South Carolina and is currently on probation in New York.
Monroe County Sheriff Deputies and Orleans County Sheriff Investigators Kevin Colonna, Devon Pahuta, and Brian Marsceill worked together in a collaborative effort to bring this case to a close.
