Shake on the Lake, a professional theatre company out of Perry, NY, made a visit to Centennial Park in Batavia on Sunday afternoon, performing the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (revised again) by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield.
“We’re here because we are a professional theatre company that believes in creative place making, which means taking works of theatre and other arts and putting them up in other rural communities like ours in Perry, NY and trying to get as many people as we can to experience arts and culture,” says Josh Rice, Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director for Shake on the Lake.
Shake on the Lake Theatre Company started in 2012 in Perry and has been touring around WNY since 2015.
“We specialize in performing for rural audiences, it’s what makes us stand apart, even nationally,” says Pilar McKay, Co-founder of Shake on the Lake.
“We love coming to Batavia. It’s a community that already has so many cultural institutions, so we are able to seamlessly fit in with everyone. it’s the perfect audience.”
The group is touring WNY and their next stop is Letchworth State Park on Wednesday July 26, 2023, at 6:30PM at the Trailside Lodge. Tickets and information Front Page – Shake on the Lake
